March is fraud awareness month

The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre is an excellent resource to educate yourself and prevent you from becoming the latest victim of a scam.

An article published December 30, 2023 by Experian "The Latest Scams You Need to Be Aware of in 2024" is a good starting point for the latest trends in fraud and identity theft.

One recent article highlights the extent of artificial intellingence (AI) and its increasing role in scams. - "Deepfake scammer walks off with $25 million in first-of-its-kind AI heist" published by Ars Technica last month. The article highlights how easy it is to scam with AI, by creating fake video and audio.
